Privacy policy
Effective date: 15 October 2026
Scrum Timer does not use advertising, tracking, or third-party analytics, and it does not require an account.
Timers stored on your device
The iOS and macOS apps store timer settings and saved timers on your device. If iCloud is available, this configuration may be synchronized between your Apple devices using Apple's iCloud key-value storage. Apple processes that data under its own privacy terms.
The web app stores local timers and preferences in your browser's local storage. You can remove that data by deleting timers in the web app or clearing site data for scrumtimerapp.com.
Shared timers
When you create or open a shared timer, Scrum Timer sends the timer's state and settings to our service hosted by Cloudflare. This includes values such as the timer identifier, duration, number of attendees, running state, timestamps, and revision number.
Timer names are encrypted on your device or in your browser before they are sent. The decryption key remains in the shared link and is not sent to the service as part of the request URL. We cannot read the encrypted timer name stored by the service.
A shared link contains a secret access token. An editable link allows anyone who has it to control the timer; a view-only link allows them to view it. Treat these links as private and share them only with people you trust.
Shared timers expire after 30 days. Using an authenticated shared timer near the end of that period may extend its expiration. Removing a saved shared timer from one of your devices does not delete the timer from the service; contact us if you need deletion assistance before it expires.
Technical data
Cloudflare processes network information, including IP addresses, to deliver and protect the service and to apply rate limits. The service records limited operational events, such as room expiration and connection fallback events, to maintain reliability and security. Scrum Timer does not use this information to build advertising profiles or track you across apps or websites.
Data sharing
We use Apple for optional iCloud synchronization and Cloudflare to host and protect the shared-timer service and website. We do not sell your personal data.
